We invite applications for a postdoctoral fellowship for 20 months (October 1st 2018 to May 31th 2020) in the context of the French side of the project mentioned above.
The project investigates the interplay between informal mathematical theories and their formalization, and the different forms of mathematical understanding that are generated by the process of formalization, with particular to mathematical practice. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the realization of the project and to reside in Nancy or Paris during the whole of her/his grant, by being affiliated to the Archives Henri-Poincaré or the Institut d'Histoire et de Philosophie des Sciences.
The grant amount (about 1600-1800€/month after taxes) is set by French regulations.
We encourage to apply young scholars having received their doctoral degree in the last 5 years in the domain of philosophy of mathematics and related areas, with a proven potential to conduct and publish research at a level of international excellence.
Applications should include:
- A (brief) letter of application including personal information academic background, research interests, and motivations for working within the project, with the indication of which aspects of it the candidate would be able to contribute.
