De 2007 à 2011, les éditeurs de ce volume ont invité Michael Detlefsen à diriger le projet Ideals of Proof (Chaire d’excellence senior ANR-07-CEXC-002-01), portant sur certains éléments idéaux qui ont guidé le raisonnement mathématique tout au long de son histoire. Ce projet a généré un nombre important de publications et de conférences, que l’on peut consulter sur Hal à l’adresse suivante : http://halshs.archives-ouvertes.fr/IP/fr/.
S’inscrivant dans la lignée du projet Ideals of Proof, ce numéro thématique de Philosophia Scientiæ porte sur les standards de la rigueur mathématique relativement à diverses questions d’ordre méthodologique, ontologique ou portant sur la théorie de la démonstration. L’objectif de ce numéro est d’aborder ces questions sous l’angle de la philosophie de la pratique des mathématiques. Tout article faisant écho aux sujets abordés dans le projet Ideals of Proof sera également bienvenu.
Les éditeurs introduiront le numéro spécial.
Les manuscrits doivent être soumis en anglais, allemand ou français, et préparés pour une évaluation anonyme. Un résumé en français et un résumé en anglais (200-300 mots) doivent être inclus.
La longueur des articles est limitée à 7 000 mots.

From 2007 to 2011, the editors invited Michael Detlefsen to direct the project Ideals of Proof (Chaire d’excellence senior ANR-07-CEXC-002-01). This project focused on certain ideals, which guided mathematical reasoning throughout its history. A substantial body of publications and lectures has grown out of this project. They can be consulted under http://halshs.archives-ouvertes.fr/IP/fr/.
As a continuation of this project, the special issue of Philosophia Scientiae focuses on standards of mathematical rigor concerning the varieties of methodological, ontological, proof-theoretical questions. It is intended to tackle the questions in the framework of the philosophy of mathematical practice. Any critical reaction to the topics involved in the Ideal of Proof project will also be welcome.
The editors will introduce the special issue.
Manuscripts should be submitted in English, French, or German, and be prepared for anonymous peer review. An abstract in English (200-300 words) should be included.
Papers’ length should not exceed 7000 words.
